Lexus GS 450h Hybrid Features
Author : Thomas Jones
With all the high gas prices out there, hybrid vehicles are continuing to become more popular among drivers There are a few luxury hybrid choices out there, and the Lexus GS 450h hybrid seems to be the most popular of those choices Check out some of the features of the Lexus GS 450h hybrid
The first thing to realize about Lexus’s GS 450h hybrid is that the vehicle wasn’t solely designed to be a fuel-efficient hybrid The fact of the matter is that as a Lexus, this line is expected to consistently develop more impressive and sophisticated vehicles, be it gas-powered or hybrid This is no exception, as the GS 450h is still a high-performance vehicle, able to keep up with any other luxury sports car or sedan As a result, car enthusiasts will always continue to enjoy and be comforted by driving such a smooth and valuable vehicle
Considering that Lexus is a name under Toyota, the technology in the GS 450h is just as up to date as is to be expected The Hybrid Synergy Drive from Toyota is the technology that makes the acceleration much easier to achieve Since the Drive technology can generate combined horsepower of 340, the GS 450h can rev and blaze down the road like any other sports sedan
The GS 450h handles like any other sports car, with being able to reach 60 mph in 5 2 seconds and then can come to a full stop from 60 mph in only 123 feet At its top speed, the Lexus GS 450h has been recorded at 131 mph Part of what makes that so possible is the Mark Levinson system and the CVT technology utilized in this Lexus vehicle
This hybrid runs quietly, smoothly, and with the top speeds for hybrid vehicles today The Lexus GS 450h set out to bring together high-end performance vehicles with the eco-friendly necessities of the environment And Lexus has succeeded in creating an elegant, chic, playful, smooth and luxurious vehicle has wins over other hybrid cars
The handling itself of the vehicle is extremely precise, with a suspension system to match A speed-sensing steering wheel and the double-wishbone suspension in the GS 450h create the precise handling you’ve come to expect from a Lexus
Fuel Efficiency and the Green Factor
In 2007, Consumer Reports reviewed the GS 450h and it was determined that this vehicle was an overall success, ultimately quite reliable Thanks to that report, people took note of Lexus’s hybrid sedan, looking at the environmental factors of the car
The EPA rated the gas mileage for the GS 450h at 22 mpg in the city, and 25 mpg on the highway While not quite as good as Toyota’s Prius, the GS 450h is still better than its conventional counterpart The difference really shines through in city driving, where the hybrid gets 22 mpg and the conventional only gets a paltry 19 mpg
The fuel-efficiency factor of the Lexus is easily accessible and obvious in the car’s design, inside and out Most notably it is in the two electric motors that operate during specific situations in tandem or separately from the gas engine This way, the ride you experience is a seamless transition from one form of energy to another, while silently reducing harmful emissions and lowering gasoline consumption
Additional Features
The safety feature of the GS 450h are high-tech and near pre-cognitive when you need them This hybrid utilizes a Pre-Collision radar system to detect oncoming vehicles This way, even your vehicle can help you prevent collisions or incidences and in the event it can’t, prepare for oncoming trauma In fact, the safety features are prominent from the moment you step into the vehicle You may not notice at first, but the moment your foot is on the brakes, decelerating, you can feel the seatbelt retract and the brake assist is instantly activated As far as active, not passive, safety systems, you would be hard-powered to find one as extensive as in the GS 450h
In the event of a crash, the hybrid is standard with dual-stage airbags in every location that would be able to protect you and your passengers in the event of a crash The vehicle has airbags placed so that in the event of frontal impact, or other major collision incidences, everyone is protected on all fronts
The next question is the one of price, and be very aware that it is a hefty At the base cost, expect to pay about $54,655 That cost is already $10,000 higher than a conventional gas-powered Lexus GS, but considering the car’s quality and brand, the price is nearly to be expected After all, it is a Lexus, and the brand is known for expense, luxury and high-end quality
So, if you find yourself in a position that you can spend the money to purchase a Lexus GS 450h, the vehicle will last you quite a while and will be well worth every penny spent

Nine Fuel Efficient Cars That Will Save You Money
Author : Warren Wong
If you’re in the market for a new car, you probably know what to look for at the dealership How many airbags does it have? What’s the car’s crash test rating? But do you ever stop to check the vehicle’s fuel efficiency rating? It’s time to start looking! With gas prices at an all-time high, buying a car with good fuel economy is going to become even more important After all, you’re already spending enough on the car — why drive off in a vehicle that will cost you hundreds of dollars a week in gas?
Here’s a list of some of the most fuel efficient cars on the road today:
1) The Ford Focus gets 24 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 35 mpg on the highway And although most of the other cars you’ll see here are imports, the Focus does an admirable job of showing just how fuel-efficient a domestic car can be (although, yes, it was designed by the company’s European division)
2) The Honda Fit gets an average of 33 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway It’s just one of several “mini-cars” that has come to the US in the past year This one provides more than just good gas mileage though — it’s also highly ranked for its interior space
3) The Honda Civic gets 30 mpg in the city and close to 38 mpg on the highway With a fuel efficiency approaching the 40 mpg mark, this car performs better than any other automatic transmission, non-hybrid car currently on the market It’s also a consumer favorite for its interior room, reliability and many additional safety features
4) The MINI Cooper gets 32 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway Produced by BMW, the MINI Cooper is known as a fun car to drive and has an impressively large amount of interior space And reaching an average of 40 mpg, you’ll save money every time you hit the pumps
5) The Nissan Altima currently drives 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway This fuel-efficient vehicle packs a large 2 5 liter engine and 180 pounds-per-foot of torque — that’s quite a bit of power for a car with this kind of fuel efficiency! It’s perfect for those who want fuel economy in a mid-size car, without giving up powerful driving capabilities
6) The Nissan Sentra gets almost 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway What makes this an impressive car is that you get great fuel economy in a car that offers continuously-variable automatic transmission Unbelievably, the car gets better gas mileage than even a manual transmission And you won’t trade fashion for function — the Nissan Sentra is a beautiful car to look at!
7) The Toyota Camry — a classic fuel efficient car — gets 43 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway It’s one of only two cars on our list that gets better fuel economy in the city And at 43 mpg, it’s hard to beat if you drive locally most of the time It’s got a large 2 4 liter engine and standard tires — plus there’s plenty of interior space for all your friends
The Toyota Corolla is another great car that gets 32 mpg in the city and 41 mpg on the highway This car always ranks well with Consumer Reports because of its outstanding fuel efficiency, safety features and reliability The Toyotas are well know for retaining their value over time, so buying this car is an investment that will pay off for years to come
9) The Toyota Prius is the crowning achievement in gas mileage, getting an unbelievable 60 mpg in the city and 51 mpg on the highway Of course you’ll get better gas mileage in a hybrid, but the Prius is really at the top of the pack Don’t worry about losing power with a gas-electric combination engine — the technology is constantly improving to give you great performance that’s comparable with any regular sedan on the road Just act now — you may have to spend some time on a waiting list for one of these cars
Gas Mileage is on everyone’s mind these days. High oil prices make fuel efficiency a topic of interest to many people.

Author : Billy Whitmire
Owning a brand new dirt bike is a thrill all of its own, but don’t discount the value that a used bike can bring to the table The next time you are considering the purchase of used dirt bike, keep in mind these 4 good reasons:
Usually Very Affordability
They make Great Training Bikes
Good Source for Parts
Already Broken In
Usually Very Affordability: If you consider the initial investment of a brand new bike, a used dirt bike can be very appealing A dealer is not likely to haggle over the price of a new dirt bike when you visit the dealership, but a used dirt bike owner may be willing to come down on the price they are asking At any rate a used bike is going to be substantially lower then a new dirt bike, and you are likely to get one at a very affordable price
Purchasing a used dirt bike can save you a considerable amount of money, but still provide you with a great bike to ride
They make Great Training Bikes: The cost of a new dirt bike can be quite expensive, especially for the first time rider Basically you can spend as much on a new dirt bike as you are willing to pay If you factor in riding gear also, you are talking about a major investment A used dirt bike is good for developing riding skill also because you won’t have to be concerned with dumping it a few times, and scratching up the paint job
A used dirt bike is a great tool for the first time rider to gain experience before making a major investment into a new bike
Good Source for Parts: Purchasing a used dirt bike that is the same model as your primary riding bike is a good investment Considering the cost of brand new parts, a used dirt bike overall can be an economical source of used parts Of course you don’t want to pay too much for the used dirt bike then it would cost you to buy the parts new If the bike is not over 5 years old, or if parts have been replaced recently, a used dirt bike can be a great source of parts
Purchasing a used dirt bike of the same make and model of your current bike can be a great source for inexpensive parts
Already Broke In: A new dirt bike is a great bike to own and ride, but there is nothing like a bike that has been broken-in properly Newer dirt bikes tend to be stiff, and can take a few hundred hours of riding to loosen them up, but a used bike that is not too old, or hasn’t been abused can provide a seasoned ride right from the start A used dirt bike can offer hundreds of hours of enjoyable on, or off track riding enjoyment
The used dirt bike that is affordable, and in good condition can provide many hours of exciting, riding excitement
Learning to ride dirt bikes is fairly easy, but there are a lot of skills required to master it. Check out GIO Bikes for a low priced dirt bike, ATV or electric motor scooter.

The Hybrid Car Advantages and Uses
Author : Kevin Bailey
Along with the destruction of our environment through standard fuel cars, and the uprising on gas prices, hybrid cars have recently become very popular This is because they are not as harmful to the environment due to the fact they run on both electricity and fuel, thus emitting less pollution This also cuts the cost of gas down, resulting in saving money overtime
The description of a hybrid car is basically a combination of a gasoline engine and an electric motor, with the sole purpose of providing enough power while maintaining as fuel-efficient as possible In comparison, these hybrid cars get better gas milage, and are much more convenient to use than a car powered solely by an electric motor
Often times, a hybrid car will withstand better fuel efficiency while in stop and go traffic or midst the streets, this is because the car is essentially running on the electric motor until around 20 miles per hour At the same time, the car possesses enough power to maintain substantial speeds on the highway, as well as accelerating fast enough to not hinder traffic
The very interesting thing about these electric motors, is how they are kept constantly charged The energy normally lost in a standard fuel car from coasting, breaking, and from the engine itself, is funneled into energy for the electric motor Thus, there is no reason for plugging in of anything at all, which is a huge bonus
As far as advantages go when comparing them to regular gasoline engine type cars, there are quite a few:
1 Less pollution
Our ozone layer is constantly being destroyed by the pollution that is found in the air, one of the factors of the greenhouse effect These harmful chemicals are not only dangerous to the environment, the ozone layer, but our health as well In California, the air’s pollution level is anywhere from two to ten times the level that needs to be maintained for a healthy environment
Having a hybrid vehicle consumes less fuel; therefore giving off less bad pollutants Anything that can be done to slow down the process of global warming is better for us, and the use of electricity as a power source poses no danger at all
2 Less gasoline use, more miles
This is one of the main reasons that hybrids are so popular, because it does not always use fuel, it allows for better efficiency, which will result in less expensive and fewer trips to the gas station
3 Lower taxes for hybrid owners
Tax rebates are given to hybrid owners, therefore you will be able to get additional savings when taxes come
4 Resale value is higher
There are many gasoline engine cars that you buy brand new, and a year later the blue book value is already sliced in half With a hybrid car, as long as you keep it in good condition, the value will stay higher longer
5 Efficiency and performance are what defines hybrid Cars
Comparing hybrid to regular, the engine is much smaller with the hybrid due to having two sources of power where the gasoline only has one This means the smaller ones are closer to the power necessity of engines that will provide sufficient performance
6 This technology is the best thing to combat air pollution and slow down the greenhouse effect
Hybrid cars uses lesser fuel and a groundbreaking technology that may avoid possible damages to the environment caused by the usual cars
Although the hybrid car is very useful for those who can afford it, there are still many families and people who can’t But once this price drops a few thousand dollars, there are sure to be much more hybrids on the streets
Kevin Bailey enjoys cars.
Especially ones that preserve the environment.

Benefits of Hybrid Automobiles
Author : David Maillie
High fuel prices and concerns over the environment have inspired more people than ever to go in search of alternative energy sources The internal combustion engine is considered to be the biggest polluter on the planet Hybrid automobiles have been gaining attention and popularity as a result of these concerns Most manufacturers either currently offer these vehicles or are in the process of developing them
There are two types of hybrids: series hybrids and parallel hybrids The parallel kind has a fuel tank for the gas engine and batteries for the electric motor Both the engine and the electric motor can turn the transmission and power the vehicle The small gas engine runs the car and the electric motor comes on when needed to boost power This is typically needed for increasing speed, merging and passing other vehicles Honda currently uses this technology
Series hybrids have a gas engine that powers the generator The generator then charges the batteries and powers the electric motor The gasoline engine doesn’t power the vehicle on its own The electric motor runs all the time and the gas engine comes on only when needed This vehicle gets better mileage around town, where the electric motor is doing most of the work Ford and Toyota currently use this technology
Hybrid cars get significantly better gas mileage than the traditional internal combustion engine Most get between 20 and 30 miles per gallon more than standard automobiles All hybrids shut off the gas engine automatically when the car is stopped This saves fuel and is better for the environment When you press the gas pedal, the engine turns back on automatically The gas engine will also come on to start charging the batteries when they become low on power
Because less gasoline is burned in these vehicles, there is less pollution causing emissions released into the atmosphere In addition, there is a lower level of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere Many scientists and environmentalists link carbon dioxide to global warming
Parts of a Hybrid Vehicle:
o Gas engine: the engine is smaller and more energy efficient than engines in traditional vehicles
o Fuel tank: the fuel tank is also smaller and holds less gasoline Since these cars burn less, a smaller tank is plenty to power the vehicle
o Electric Motor: the electric motor acts as both a motor and a generator The motor takes energy from the batteries to power the car for acceleration When you slow down, the energy is returned to the batteries, which are then automatically recharged
o Batteries: a series of batteries store energy needed to power the electric motor
o Transmission: in most hybrids, the transmission works to propel the car forward in a similar way as in traditional gasoline powered vehicles
Hybrids recover energy from the electric motor to the battery When you step on the brake, the energy from the motor is transmitted back to the battery This process is known as regenerative braking This helps to recharge the batteries and keep them in good working order
The aerodynamic designs of the hybrids help in their energy efficiency Look at pictures of the various hybrids on the market The shape of the vehicle is intentional It reduces the frontal area of the car, which reduces the drag on the car when it moves through the air
Lightweight materials are used on hybrid cars This is also intentional The more a car weighs, the more energy is needed to propel the vehicle forward This is one reason SUVs use so much more gas than other cars Lighter materials are used to reduce the overall weight of the car and in turn, decrease the energy that is needed to run it
The tires on these vehicles are specially designed to increase efficiency Stiffer materials are used in the construction and the tires are inflated to a higher pressure This ensures optimum efficiency and conserves energy These tires have about half as much drag as regular tires
Automobile manufacturers are always looking for ways to increase the energy efficiency Technology is being continually developed to increase the efficiency and performance of these vehicles Some of the coming improvements include: increased fuel economy, more safety features, better performance and comfort
Your new hybrid automobile is an investment that you will want to protect Keep the exterior looking great with regular washing and waxing to protect the finish of the car Don’t overlook the headlights when performing exterior maintenance Headlight cleaner and restorer is now available

Car Financing with Bad Credit Loans
Author : Mark Robinson
Many of us have had a period in our lives where we hit a financial crisis While we don’t like to admit that we have had issues in the past with finances our credit history is going to reflect that trouble depending on how long ago the trouble was and whether we had it removed after the appropriate time For instance a bankruptcy will be reflected on your credit history for seven years While for most purposes a bankruptcy will stop affecting you after four years it can still have a moderate affect on any car financing you try to get In other words when you have bad credit you are going to be paying a higher interest rate on the car loan because you are deemed a risk
Don’t despair if you have bad credit though You will still be able to get car financing and as long as you have turned around your financial life you should be able to handle the car payments In most cases if you have proven yourself to be responsible again the car loan will deduct a half a point every six months for the last two or three years of the loan
In most cases when you have to get a bad credit car loan it is best to shop around before you go to a dealership and try through them You will find that in most cases a car dealership is not as willing to try for a bad credit car loan In other words there are specific car dealerships that will advertise bad credit car loans or the ability for anyone with poor or no credit to receive a car of their liking through their loan system You do have to be a little worried about these types of places, but as long as you have done your research you should be fine
The key to getting a decent bad credit car loan for your new vehicle is going to be research, checking your own credit history, and making sure you are dealing with a place that allows for poor credit You don’t want to seek a bank that doesn’t hand out poor or bad credit car loans as they will often refuse you and make your credit history look worse Be wise before you apply anywhere Keep in mind also that you can apply for several different loans in a three week period without it affecting your credit score more than once You see in a three week period someone can access your credit score without the points being taken off because you are trying to find just one type of loan and get the best deal
A bad credit car loan is going to be something that is a little harder to obtain and certainly more costly than a regular car financing What you want to do is choose a vehicle that is extremely low in cost and that will help you rebuild your credit rather than something that is really out of your price range or almost out of that range

Top Tips For Buying a Used Car
Author : Lawrence White
Buying a car, particularly if it is not new can be a very daunting prospect With the abundance of TV consumer programmes informing the public of the fraudulent methods being used to sell second hand cars is undoubtedly alarming There are a many factors you should take into consideration before parting with your cash
Do not take any chances and buy from a reputable car dealer has to be the most important tip
Look at the paperwork Reputable car dealers will have these readily available for your inspection If they say they have lost it or that it is not currently available, walk away very fast! Check the registration document to ensure the number plate and vehicle identification number match
If the car has an MOT check that the details match those of the car
Check the service history of the car Look at the mileage and see whether it matches the service history Also look to see whether the car has had all of its recommended services at appropriate times
Ask if a proper car history has been carried out and ask to see the results of the findings This will tell you whether the car has been involved in an accident, damaged, stolen or has any outstanding credit Thousands of cars are sold each year which are stolen or have outstanding credit If you buy one of these cars, albeit in good faith, it can be confiscated and returned to its rightful legal owner, you will be out of pocket and have no recourse whatsoever All reputable dealerships will have carried out this check before putting the car in their showrooms or included them on their online lists
Visually examine the car If you are not sure what you should be looking for, take someone with who does with you
* Walk round the car and look for obvious bents and marks on the paintwork Reputable dealers will no doubt point these out, but not always!
* Check the mileage against the overall condition of the interior and seats-low mileage and very worn interiors may indicate that the mileage has been wound back on the clock
* Any stickers should be examined, look underneath them as they are often used to cover faults
* Look under the floor covering between the front and back door If there are signs of welding then it may indicate that the car is a Cut and Shut, this is where the front half of one car and the back half of another has been used to make a complete car
* Check electric windows, wipers and lights are all in working order
Take the car for a test drive-reputable used car dealerships will be more than happy and recommend for you to do this
* When you start the engine check to see if the oil light goes out quickly
*Listen for rattling and odd noises
*When the car has warmed up check that it idles smoothly
* Use all the gears, including reverse during the test drive
* Drive at different speeds to check acceleration and braking
* Check whether there is any steering drift when driving in a straight line
Reputable used car dealers will be happy to for you to carry out any of these checks They have built their reputation on providing quality used cars
