Calculating gas mileage is not just dividing the gas volume by the number of miles traveled There are a number of variables that affect a vehicle’s gas mileage If you do want to calculate the mileage of your car or truck, you will need precise equipment to carry that out and also remember to keep the following variables under consideration:

Road conditions are very important considerations If you are driving on good roads freeways or highways you will get a better mileage than you would on a bad road full of potholes and craters If you are planning to calculate the mileage of your vehicle then the best bet is testing it on flat roads to get the optimum value

Last but not the least and the most important factor to consider while calculating mileage is the engine condition For example if you have just tuned your engine and you want to test the mileage after installing the latest gas-saving equipment, then probably you won’t get accurate results as a better mileage can be attributed to the freshly tuned engine

So as we can see there are a number of factors and variables to keep in to consideration while calculating the mileage of a car or if you are planning to test the performance of a newly launched gas-saving device Keeping all the variables at an optimum level is your best bet

Vauxhall dealers have always been considered the budget option for those buying a new car While this may not be true today, Vauxhall can trace a heritage of supplying the British public with cars that, unlike Bentleys and Rollers were always in grasp The company can trace its history back over a century Dealers today are proud of this heritage as one of the most popular car brands with the British public

The person who founded Vauxhall was Alex Wilson Originally however, Mr Wilson did not set out to manufacture and sell motorcars, the first items to roll out of the Vauxhall Company were engines and pumps, predominantly used in the maritime sphere Wilson soon abandoned this however when he saw how lucrative owning a motor company could be, like most wheeler dealers, he had the ability to spot a profit making opportunity

Once the company was producing cars for their dealers around the country they soon caught the eye of American manufacturer General Motors This leviathan of the motor industry launched a bid to buy out the British company and succeeded The eventual deal saw Vauxhall being sold for two and half million dollars, at the time this was a large sum and gave GM control over all aspects of Wilson’s operation The factories, dealers and workers; to coin a phrase, GM now owned Vauxhall ‘lock, stock and barrel’

Sadly for the British company this collusion with General Motors meant that for fifty years their development was stifled by a parent company that was interested in exporting its ideas rather than nourishing the talent of the British design team For many years, Vauxhall cars had the same design elements as their American cousins These were never extremely popular with the public although thanks to American know how of mass production, at least they were affordable

During the war Vauxhall stopped producing cars and instead helped with the war effort This meant that the factories were converted to manufacture the Churchill Tank After the war the company attempted to regain a strong sales platform in a period when spending on cars was at a low It was during this period that the company developed a rivalry with Ford that continues today

The Ford, Vauxhall rivalry became especially fierce during the sixties and seventies Both were attempting to take the largest chunk of the budget car market in the UK For many years, Ford had the advantage and Vauxhall were forced to play catch up

In the early seventies the Vauxhall Company released two models, the Viva and Victor While the Victor was a pretty mediocre model the Viva set a standard of small family car that has seemingly created a whole new category in the motor industry Ford at this time had the Cortina and Corsair; both were popular although the Cortina became the most popular budget car in the country In addition, at this stage there was a third competitor in the British car market; this was British Leyland and although it is now no longer in existence, at the time it was quite a force in the motor industry

The rivalry between Ford and Vauxhall continues to this day although in the modern climate although it is less fierce today Vauxhall have managed to catch and overtake their rivals Recent surveys have placed Vauxhall as the favourite car manufacturer with the British public thanks to a range of cars to suit all purposes It has been through dedication and the efforts of the company’s dealers that this dream has become a reality

A Japanese company claimed in June this year to have constructed the only car that could run on water alone and therefore having a completely environmentally friendly car emitting nil carbon gas emissions and not affecting global warming

The company who have built the vehicle claim that it will run for 80km, approx 50 miles, on one litre of water but its only public appearance to date was very amateurishly videoed and can be viewed on Youtube

So far very few exact details have been released by the company leading to some scepticism about their claims, one detail that has come out is that there is an electric motor involved from which one could assume this could lead to an electrolysis type system

It may be natural in one way to protect secret company data but in this case they are helping to raise more doubt about their invention by the way they have administered the launch of their so called ground breaking discovery

You would be forgiven for thinking that a company who must have invested very considerable sums of money into their discovery would also have invested in a website, which nowadays is the quickest way to get any news out to a world wide audience, but which in this case they did not

Slightly less contentious is the fact that when the company announced the launch of their new product they also announced they had only just applied for a patent It has always been my belief that when it comes to patents you kept your new idea under your hat until the ink had dried on your patent approval form

As I am the supreme sceptic, when the above came to my notice I checked around and nearly all the press releases on this subject were dated Friday 13th (of June) An omen? Who knows, but at least it was not April 1st

The company have let it be known that they would not be averse to collaborating with a major Japanese car maker to have their vehicle produced (subject of course that all is well)

How is this news going to change the motor industry, the oil industry,the road haulage industry,perhaps even aviation? Well do not hold your breath as they say Even if you fancy a new water powered car for yourself there is plenty to consider

Firstly,how long will it be before these new cars are in the showrooms in abundance,very early estimates say several years and that is if the technology works and is robust enough

Next,what price,well even if you say $16000 (equal to approx 8 500 pounds sterling) it is going to take you 5-8 years to pay off the loan,ok you have no fuel costs,but that is a lot of cash to risk on what is as yet untried technology

If you have already decided to embrace the water/fuel concept,great,you can do so right now without waiting years and with absolute minimal expense Your present car can be adapted to emit minimal carbon gas exhaust emissions,which will be of huge benefit to the global warming problem

How,install a water to gas fuel conversion system and not only help save the environment but also save yourself a pile of money each time you fill up your tank
